Spend the morning exploring the story of Saint Patrick in the Medieval town of Downpatrick discovering the Saint Patrick Exhibition and Imax, Down County Museum and the Medieval Cathedral of Down before boarding the Steam Train to beautiful Inch Abbey to meet our Café Team with ‘Flo’ their 1976 Citroen Van for a picnic lunch (included).
Itinerary
Start your morning with a warm welcome and guided tour of the Saint Patrick Centre Exhibition, the only permanent exhibition in the World about Ireland’s Patron Saint. Explore the fascinating galleries of neighbouring Down County Museum and its new High Cross Exhibit. Walk along the beautiful Georgian Mall to the adjacent Medieval Cathedral of Down to explore the splendid Gothic and Georgian interior and visit Saint Patrick’s Grave.
Descend from the Cathedral through the tree-lined paths of The Grove to the Downpatrick and County Down Railway Museum – the only narrow gauge railway in Ireland and board a train to Inch Abbey where the legend of Saint Patrick and the snakes was written. Meet our Café Team with ‘Flo’ their 1976 Citroen Van for a picnic lunch. Rugs will be provided.

After lunch board a sea canoe (up to 4 people) or canoe catamaran (up to 8 people) and go with our river guides along the Quoile River to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. £18pp
