Denvir’s Coaching Inn

A country home away from home

Offering old world charm in the heart of Downpatrick, Denvir’s has a long tradition of sheltering travellers and will endeavour to ensure that your meal or overnight stay will be a memorable one.

Denvir’s is the oldest surviving Coaching Inn in Ireland and is now a grade ‘A’ listed building. The building itself has been extensively and sympathetically renovated while retaining its original character. With six attractive and beautifully restored bedrooms, a restaurant, lounge and snug bars as well as two function rooms for hire; there are many reasons to visit Denvir’s.

Restaurant
While enjoying a meal in Denvir’s restaurant, diners can soak up the atmosphere beside a huge 17th century fireplace, one of many original features that were uncovered during recent renovations.

The restaurant at Denvir’s serves the finest traditional dishes, prepared using local produce in an enchanting setting with beautiful exposed beams lining the ceiling, giving the dining room an old-world feel.

Bar
The perfectly petite ‘Snug Bar’ at Denvir’s has a unique design and upon entering you might be forgiven for thinking you had stepped into a time gone by.

The Lounge Bar continues in the same vein with wooden beams and floors, period windows and a large stone fireplace offering a cosy and comfortable atmosphere in which to unwind.

The gin garden, with its own bar and seating area, is perfect for an outdoor lunch or a cold drink on a warm summer evening.

Accommodation
Denvir’s features six attractive, comfortable, and beautifully restored bedrooms.

Each room is individually decorated and offers an exciting mix of old and new with wooden floors, striking wooden beds and fireplaces, while also offering all the modern facilities you would expect from a first class Bed and Breakfast.
