Cranfield offers gently sloping, mainly sandy beach located at the entrance to Carlingford Lough, an area designated an Area of Special Scientific Interest. The idyllic location has the majestic Mourne Mountains as a dramatic backdrop.

Cranfield Beach, a long south-facing beach offers excellent facilities for all and is popular with families and water sport enthusiasts. During July and August RNLI lifeguards are on duty 11am to 6pm daily.

This service is continued on weekends only during September.
